Has everyone bought their copy of 1984 yet? What a lovely, lovely book. Especially in these times of ‘alternative facts!’ If that’s too scary for you, how about some movies – there are in fact a couple of great flicks waiting for you at the theater. Well, entertaining, at the very least 🙂
RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER
The female revolution rages along! Well, at least on film. Milla Jovovich is back as the amazing Alice, battling Dr. Isaacs (Iain Glen), the ‘Umbrella’ corporation and zombies, riding bikes and slicing up baddies at a breakneck pace, desperately seeking a cure as the last few humans struggle in a desolate apocalyptic landscape against the virus. Also, female antagonist! Well, kinda… it’s an AI named the Red Queen (Megan Charpentier).
And it’s back to the Hive, where it all began. Old faves Chris and Claire Redfield (Wentworth Miller, Ali Carter) are there, along with Kmart (Spencer Locke). Just don’t expect any character development or emotional connection or any of that silly stuff—RESIDENT EVIL characters are way too busy for that. But, how about some mindbending? As in, could one of the Holy Trinity have been a woman? True, some beloved characters may not be returning, but hey… it’s got all the action a hardcore fan would love. Sure it’s all a tad tacky and totally unrealistic, but that’s part of the RESIDENT EVIL charm. Don’t think so? Well then perhaps you’ll be in the mood for some GOLD courtesy of hunky Matthew McC. Keep reading.
Isn’t it fun watching hunks like Matthew McConaughey play gritty characters? Here he’s a prospector trying to find gold in the – uncharted – jungles of Indonesia. And what a great place to get desperate in! Muggy, creepy, and crawling with all sorts of charming insects and animals. But you know what’s even more scary? A boardroom full of greedy men. Definitely worth watching, since this flick also stars more amazing talent such as Edgar Ramirez and Bryce Dallas Howard. Here’s the trailer:
A DOG’S PURPOSE
If the dog filmed could speak, he would tell you just how terrifying it was being forced by humans to get into a pool where powerful currents were being created with motors. The director of the flick Lasse Hallstrom was present during this disgusting event. Boycott!!
And that’s it for me, folks. Do be sure to enjoy yourselves, and tweet me! Adios!
