For some inspirational family story time, watch A DOLPHIN TALE 2, in which Dr. Haskett (Harry Connick, Jr.) has to find a suitable companion for young dolphin Winter, or risk having her moved to another aquatic park. He does find a dolphin calf stray, but the bond may or may not prove tangible.
The original cast returns for this sequel—Cozi Zuelsdorff as daughter Hazel, Nathan Gamble as Sawyer, Ashley Judd as Sawyer’s mom, Morgan Freeman as prosthetics expert Dr. McCarthy, and Kris Kristofferson as the grandad. As fitting for a film of this sort in a post-BLACKFISH era, it thankfully lacks the contrived relationship between man and animal, and instead is more about coming-of-age and letting go.
