Yes, I realize that Halloween is over, but apparently I’m in denial. The fact is that I’m so into Halloween that I’m still working on all my fun Halloween recipes and experiments even as people are already lining up for Black Friday. At a recent gathering nobody seemed to mind that I served my new recipe for fizzy Halloween eyeball punch, even though it’s almost Thanksgiving.
I had the chance to snap but this one lone picture before the kids guzzled it down (and plenty of grownups too). Obviously they miss Halloween as much as I do.
I’m pretty proud of my eyeballs. You can find out how to make them here (Fruity Eyeball Halloween Snack). After making your eyeballs (just a frozen blueberry inside a grape), then freeze them. They make terrific and tasty ice cubes. And they are so convincing that the kids at my daughters’ preschool refused to eat them. That made me proud.
This punch is really easy to make and you can adapt it for a great kid friendly holiday punch for all your upcoming holiday get togethers. Yes, you may leave out the eyeballs. (Maybe it would be cute with Christmas tree shaped ice cubes or something — I’ll have to give it a try).
Here’s how to make it:
One liter of your favorite lemon lime soda
About 1/4 can of limeade concentrate (add more or less to taste)
It’s on the sweet side, but it’s yummy. You can also add lime sherbet instead of the eyeballs.
Happy holidays, everybody!
