Finding Dory sneak peek: Trailer, photos, movie details and more! #FindingDory

Guess who is the “most liked” Disney or Disney Pixar animated character on Facebook? Not Toy Story’s Woody, or Donald Duck, or even Mickey Mouse. It’s Dory! Go ahead, you know you want to…you can visit Dory’s Facebook page to like her here. (But then come back so that you can watch the brand new Finding Dory trailer!)

Famous Finding Nemo Dory quotes: "Hey Mr Grumpy Gills, when life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming!"

Wow, she is a beloved character, so it stands to reason that she would get her own movie. In this sequel, we’ll get to dive deeper into Dory’s story: what can she remember about her past? Who is her family? And where on earth (or underwater) did she learn to speak “whale”? These and other crucial questions will be answered as she embarks on a journey with Marlin and Nemo to find out.

Here’s the trailer, which is very true to the original. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to meet any of the new characters or get to learn anything new about Dory yet. Die-hard Finding Nemo fans will be glad to know that in terms of tone and story, director Andrew Stanton and his team are not venturing too far into unchartered waters. I just hope the story isn’t too predictable.

It’s no wonder that Disney Pixar was pushing hard for a Finding Nemo sequel. That movie swam its way into film history by not just winning an Oscar for Best Animated Feature and being ranked as one of the best animated films of all time by the American Film Institute, but also by being one of the top-grossing animated films ever. It made a serious splash at the box office, but it will probably be outdone by FINDING DORY.

You guessed it, I’m a little obsessed! Ellen DeGeneres is the voice of Dory, and Albert Brooks is back as the voice of Marlin.

Hint: Gill and Deb from the fish tank will also be back. And we’ll meet Dory’s mom, Jenny, the voice of Diane Keaton, and her dad Charlie, the voice of Eugene Levy. How cool is that? More information about cast and plot is available in this piece I did after D23 in 2013. Check it out!
